SUMMARY

In the Spring of 2020, I took part in the Google Software Product Sprint (SPS) — an invite-only and 11-week virtual program where participants design and build open-source software using the Google Cloud Platform, and collaborate in team projects using Git and GitHub. TravelBud is a web app that I worked on with my SPS teammates during the 4-week team project portion of the sprint.

WHAT IS TRAVELBUD?

TravelBud is a site discovery webapp that provides travelers a chance to design trips to places that give them the real essence of a city or country instead of tourist traps. The site provides users with crowdsourced information on a location’s hidden gems, local events, and cultural norms. (Note: Some images or links in the live demo may be broken due to outdated dependencies.)

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

My tasks included building features on the front-end & back-end of the web app, setting the creative direction of the product’s design and creating high-fidelity UI/UX prototypes.
